Mike Avery

Mr. Avery is retired Director of Planning and Inspections for City of New Bern 1986-2012, member of American Institute of Certified Planners, and former president of the NC Chapter of the American Planning Association.

He is a Licensed NC Real Estate Broker, a founding and current member of the Neuse River CDC since 1996, worked in Community Development programs at state and local level since 1976. MA in State and Local Gov’t Administration from ASU, Boone, NC.

Mike is married to Jeanette Avery with two grown daughters, Caroline and Elspeth. Member and elder at First Presbyterian Church, New Bern, NC.
